Innovation continues as a key focus for healthcare collaborations as the UK’s Healthcare Pavilion partners with the Middle East Medical Portal (MEMP) to encourage export innovation covering medical devices, diagnostics and digital health.

MEMP bridges the distance between the UK and Dubai, with bases in both regions, and offering unparalleled market access through its accreditation as a provider of medical education. Bringing excellence in trade together with UK Healthcare Pavilion’s access to opinion leaders and policy makers facilitates engagement with the UK’s depth of experience in industry and healthcare organisations. Benefitting from the support of the UK government, the Healthcare Pavilion affords access to UK consulates, embassies and industry bodies across the globe.

The associations supporting the Healthcare Pavilion carry considerable weight. For example, the Royal College of Surgeons, Royal College of Physicians, The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the British Dental Industry Association (BDIA), and the UK BioIndustry Association (BIA), amongst many other are involved with the platform, which aims to connect the UK’s excellence in life science and healthcare with overseas customers, such as those in the Middle East.

The UK Healthcare pavilion is the first time that the country’s healthcare has had the opportunity to showcase its capabilities through a single portal. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been clear to the pavilion’s members how hard it is to connect with global audiences as physical borders have become more controlled. This online marketplace is a vehicle through which the UK can access those keen to connect with and innovate through the UK’s capabilities.
